Come along to Waterfront Weymouth on the 10th & 11th July to enjoy Dorset’s very own Seafood Festival. Events on this famous old harbourside include: cooking demonstrations by top chefs Mark Hix, Giles Thompson and 2009 MasterChef winner Mat Follas; The Dorset Young Seafood MasterChef of the Year Competition; Fishtucker Trials; filleting demonstrations; champagne and wine matching demonstrations; fresh fish auctions, and book signings by the famous chef authors. Also appearing is John Wright, River Cottage’s foraging expert! With more than 50 stalls selling both seafood and a range of associated goods there is something here for everyone.

Compère Joe Wadsack, a renowned wine expert, TV presenter and a regular on BBC’s ‘Saturday Kitchen’ and UK TV Foods ‘Great Food Live’ will add his passion and knowledge to the proceedings on both days.

The Festival includes a Seafood Village with over 30 food stalls serving a wide range of seafood dishes, all available to try for a small charge. Many of Dorset’s finest restaurants will also be demonstrating their skills.

New this year is a second demonstration stage area on Custom House Quay.

Watch out for the live diving displays by the Historical Diving Society. These enthusiasts on diving history dive use hand pumps and copper helmets designed in the 18th century.

Children can try fossil painting, have their face painted or see the puppet show ‘Oshima and the Big Sea’ (Saturday only).

And don’t miss the Pommery Cross Harbour Oyster Challenge at 10.30 on Saturday; plus the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Town Bridge at 11.00 on the Sunday.
